THE Copyright Society Of Composers, Authors and Publishers (COSCAP) continued to offer support to various community and charitable activities, including: Broadway To Barbados, Queen’s College PTA – Evening Of Elegance, the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk by the Youth Uprising Community Group and the Rotary Club – The Australian Bee Gees Show: A Tribute To The Bee Gees. In addition, over 25 waivers were granted to various organisations.
This year COSCAP has moved to effect royalty payments more frequently. Instead of paying royalties twice a year, royalties are being paid on a quarterly basis. The first distribution was successfully completed in March for copyright and related rights.
Payments were made to performers and producers for general (shops, restaurants, hotels, and so on) and broadcast licensees. Payment to songwriters and music publishers related to royalties received from abroad were also made. The largest payments received from overseas were from Sweden, royalties were also received from Japan, Canada, Jamaica and France.
