WHO IS FAITH CALLENDER?
Entertainer Faith Callender was born on March 20th, 1993 on the beautiful island of Barbados. Faith is viewed as your ordinary “Girl Next Door” because she is relatable and down-to-earth, but an explosive alter ego comes out on stage that is guaranteed to catch your attention.
Music has always been a passion for Faith from a tender age, which led her to enter her first singing competition in 2007 at her alma mater “The Alleyne School” where she walked away with the crown. This motivated her to heavily consider a future in music.
Although music is Faith’s passion, she strongly believes in possessing a solid education. Faith holds an Associate Degree in Accounting and Economics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance attained from UWI Cavehill (2016).
While studying for her degree, Faith dare not let her music slip. Faith has been training, working on original material and developing herself as an artiste. Faith has performed with popular local bands such as “Soca Kartel”, “The Energy Band”, “Kryptonyte”, “Hygraid” and “Eva Blaze”, where she was seen at events like Soca On The Hill, The Barbados Music Awards, Ms. Teen Universe, Miss Plus Size Diva Barbados, Reggae on the Hill, Cohoblopot, Dis Is Rick, BeerFest, NCF Cavalcades, Honey Jam, Honey Jazz, Love Poetry and Song, private events, school pageants, nightclubs and restaurants. She also got her first placement on television with a Banks Beer commercial she co-wrote, and landed another in a local movie “Pay Day 2” with her reggae single “Listen Careful” written by Rhea Layne and Produced at Hit Island Studios. She also holds the title Ms. Banks Calendar Girl 2014.
In 2014, Faith decided to get her feet wet by competing in the Soca Arena and she released three songs for the Crop Over season, “Lock It”, “Happiness” and “Soca Therapy”. Soca Therapy was a duet with fellow Banks ambassador Mr. Anderson “Blood” Armstrong, and Lock It landed her a spot in the Party Monarch Finals (albeit as the reserve).
With Faith’s 2014 success, she was more eager to captivate the hearts of the public and released three songs each for Crop Over 2015 and 2016, “Take Me Out”, “Road Rage” and “Double Trouble” in 2015 and “Haunted”, “Party Bless” and “I’ll Be There” in 2016. Take Me Out and Haunted became radio sensations in their respective years; Road Rage featured the Caribbean Queen Ms. Alison Hinds and made it to the semi-finals of the Party Monarch competition in 2015, While her track I’ll Be There granted her a spot in the semi-finals of the same competition in the following year. Double Trouble was yet another collaboration with Anderson “Blood” Armstrong. Faith Callender can only keep rising from here.
Faith is excited about the future and is embracing all possibilities. She continues to pursue her love for music and entertainment and is determined to reach the goals she has set out for herself.
